Gift a Helicopter Flight in Provence

Looking for an original, unforgettable gift in Provence? Give the gift of a helicopter piloting discovery flight. Your loved one takes the controls — supervised by a certified instructor — above the landscapes of Provence, departing from Aix-en-Provence.

The gift that leaves a lasting impression

A birthday, Father's Day, a retirement gift, Valentine's Day, Christmas, a school or professional achievement — the helicopter discovery flight is a gift that truly stands out from the ordinary.

This isn't just a joyride: it's a real piloting experience, where the recipient holds the controls of a helicopter above the exceptional landscapes of Provence. An experience they won't forget.

Discovery flight or sightseeing flight?

You may be looking for a helicopter "sightseeing flight" to give as a gift. In France, sightseeing flights are reserved for commercial air transport companies. As a flying club approved as a DTO by the French civil aviation authority (DGAC), we offer something better: a piloting discovery flight.

The difference? On a sightseeing flight, your loved one is a passenger. On a discovery flight at Rotor Club Aixois, they're the pilot. They hold the controls, control the aircraft's track, and feel the unique sensations of helicopter flight. It's a genuine first lesson — not a tourist ride.

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Briefing — 20 minutes

The instructor welcomes the recipient and explains how the helicopter works: controls, safety, how the flight will unfold. This briefing prepares them to be an active participant in the flight, not just a spectator.

  2. 2

    The flight — 30 to 60 minutes

Headset on, the instructor hands the controls to your loved one. Hover, climb, turns, navigation above Provence — the Sainte-Victoire mountain, the Étang de Berre lagoon, the Crau plain. The sensations are guaranteed.

  3. 3

    Debrief

Back on the ground with the instructor to review the flight. For many, it's the start of an adventure that leads all the way to the PPL(H).

Frequently asked questions about the gift voucher

How long is the gift voucher valid for?

We agree on the validity period together when you order — usually 6 to 12 months.

Does the recipient need prior experience?

None at all. The discovery flight is designed for complete beginners. Your instructor takes care of all the supervision.

From what age can this flight be gifted?

From age 14, with parental consent. There's no maximum age.

Can the recipient bring someone along?

Yes, depending on the aircraft type. With an R44, 1 to 2 extra people can join as passengers while the recipient pilots.

What if the weather doesn't allow flying on the planned day?

The flight is rescheduled at no extra cost. Safety always comes first — that's the rule in aviation.
