Frequently asked questions

I trained elsewhere — can I join Rotor Club Aixois?

Yes. After a check flight with one of our instructors — to confirm your level and get you familiar with our aircraft and airfield — you can join the club and access aircraft rental, type ratings and all our other services.

Can I fly all 3 of the club's helicopters (R44, Cabri G2, Bell 206) with a single membership?

Yes, once you've obtained or validated the corresponding type rating for each aircraft. Club membership gives you access to the whole fleet, subject to the required ratings.

How do I keep my ratings current as a member?

An annual check flight with an instructor (examiner) is required for each helicopter type, along with a minimum number of flight hours per the club's requirements and current regulations.

Does the club organise group flights between member pilots?

Yes, members regularly organise outings together — flights to restaurants reachable by helicopter, group cross-country flights, or simple leisure flights among enthusiasts.

Can I progress towards a professional licence (CPL(H)) through the club?

Rotor Club Aixois is a DTO dedicated to private PPL(H) training. We can advise you and point you towards approved organisations for CPL(H) training if you want to move towards a professional career.
